By adopting easy-to-implement best practices that make sense, both physiologically and procedurally, EMS providers can mitigate some of the anxiety of a pediatric cardiac arrest (PCA) call. This course presents the physiology of PCA, how outreach and education impact patient survival, and best practices for responding to these emotionally charged, high-priority incidents. It also reviews how the provider’s mindset and their own self-care affect how they care for PCA patients.
