This training will increase awareness about improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by terrorist and criminal extremists.

Whether responding to a reported explosion—including terrorist events—or maintaining appropriate awareness for bombs and energetic materials during more routine emergency calls, being able to recognize indicators of potential bomb hazards will help firefighters protect themselves and the public.

The lesson introduces these concepts in preparation for a drill.
