EMS providers continue to see an increase in the number of patients suffering from behavioral health emergences however depend on their initial training on how to care for these types of illnesses. New techniques and therapies are available to help EMS providers deliver safe and appropriate care. These modules will review the current context of behavioral and psychiatric health emergencies, de-escalation techniques delivered by a paramedic and psychiatrist, and the use of ketamine to in the prehospital setting.
