Over the most recent fire seasons, firefighters in Southern California have faced unprecedented demands on their time and abilities. This RT-130 reviews lessons learned from recent years and addresses topics that will empower firefighters to gain the mindset, knowledge, and skills they need to return safely from future wildfire deployments.

Now more than ever, firefighters need training that is efficient and adaptable to their circumstances. This course follows the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) guidelines by providing both online support and drill materials for each required topic in the NWCG RT-130 curriculum.

Local departments have the flexibility to structure and schedule these training activities to fit their needs. As a hybrid credential, this online course will set a solid foundation and then local departments will sponsor RT-130 drills, including but not limited to the mandatory practice deploying a fire shelter.
