Violent incidents are dynamic and require a unified response from both fire and law enforcement. This includes coordination and communication between dispatch, law enforcement, and fire. A unique operational component of this approach is the joint law and fire Rescue Task Force (RTF) which operates inside the warm zone to provide basic life saving interventions and rapid extraction for critically injured patients.
The goal of this lesson is to emphasize the importance of information sharing and updates during an incident response, as well as highlight best practices in establishing and deploying RTFs.
The region has been working on these skills for several years. This course is an update and represents the latest guidance from the RTG on this topic.
