The risks of radicalization and domestic violent extremism have increased in recent years. Societal norms have changed, and the path to violence has become far more condensed. With so many controversial narratives today, there has been an alarming increase in the number of individuals who have mobilized to violence.
This lesson will help fire service personnel build awareness of what domestic violent extremism looks like, understand the condensed time frame between radicalization and mobilization to violence, recognize when the potential for violent extremism may exist, and recognize how these issues affect them in their day-to-day duties.
