Multiple Casualty Incidents (MCIs) are defined by the LA County EMS Agency. These incidents require a high level of interoperability in order to save lives. Since the original RTG MCI Triage course was released in 2016, triage protocols have been well adopted across the region. However, there have been ongoing questions about the overall management of these complex incidents.
This 2022 course features updated LA County EMS Agency definitions and policies related to MCIs. It also highlights key ICS positions and how they should function in order to ensure interoperability and efficient management of an MCI.
